Ingredients
  • Hilsa fish 4-5 pieces
  • Mustard oil 6-7 table spoon
  • Salt 1 table spoon
  • Haldi/tumeric powder 1 tea spoon
Method
  1. Clean the fish and marinate with salt and turmeric powder. Keep this for 5 mins. In a big kadhai (pot), put mustard oil and wait until it’s hot. Once the oil becomes hot, add the marinated fish one by one. Wait for a few minutes until one side of the fish is cooked properly. Later turn the fish and cook the other side for another 2-3mins. This way, you need to fry all the fishes until they become nice brown in color and the skin looks crisp.
  2. Fried hilsa fish goes well with hot rice.
  3. You can also mix rice in the left over oil from the cooking pot. It brings excellent aroma and flavour to the rice.
  4. Add a pinch of salt (if required) with rice and enjoy the delicious meal.
